Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American chef television personality and an instructor from the Institute of Culinary Education. She is host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef at Food Network. Food Network. With her trademark spiky blond hair and bubbly personality Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of restaurant dishes and reveals concise easy-to-master techniques for the at-home cook on her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell worked in New York at top restaurants and studied the Italian culinary tradition and its landscape. She also competed as Iron Chef America on Food Network. Growing up in upstate New York, Chef Burrell developed a passion for food and cooking in her early years. The Culinary Institute of America was the next step following her graduation with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Communication from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was a wonderful opportunity for me. I was never able to learn or do enough. After graduating from the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners Chef Burrell was able to spend a whole year in Italy studying and working at La Taverna del Lupo restaurant in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 one Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. During her time in Italy she grew to truly be aware of the philosophy behind Italian culinary and cultural traditions that has had a profound impact on her culinary point of view. Burrell is a well-known ambassador to the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She also was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board, which helps kids with disabilities. as a speaker, guest and mentor she travels across the US to talk about her culinary passion and profession. Anne has, through her whole cooking journey, has said that it's a pleasure to have the opportunity to share her passion for life with others.
